Electrodynamic Modeling for Multiple Conductors with Electrical Currents in Arbitrary Direction
To find an analytical method for computing the electromagnetic field generated by any number of linear conductors with arbitrary spatial directions.
This research seeks a simple yet powerful analytical method for computing the electromagnetic field generated by any number of linear conductors with arbitrary spatial directions. Although the problem of an infinite straight conductor carrying a current can be easily analyzed, for multiple conductors the analytical modeling of electromagnetic fields is hindered by the mathematical complexity. For the latter scenario, numerical approximation techniques based on iterative operations are the conventional forms of solution, but they demand heavy computing resources in exchange of accuracy. Analytical solutions, on the other hand, have only been reported for cases that meet certain symmetry requirements; therefore, they cannot be considered a general solution. By contrast, the method proposed here will be applicable to any number of linear conductors, regardless of their orientation. One of its main advantages is that all conductors are brought to the same Euclidean system of reference, resulting in much simpler calculations, even allowing manual analysis, depending on the problem. The proposed method will be validated through simulation on case studies.
